X lite softphone setup

Learn how to configure the X-Lite softphone, other versions such as X-Ten, Eyebeam and Bria are from the same family and can be setup using these instructions. X-Lite softphone allows to dial any landline or mobile phone number from PC to phone and get all phone calls connected. The first step is to download the X-Lite softphone to your computer or mobile device. Download X-lite from the developer website , this is a modern version with the same capabilities and it is much more slower than the previous version hosted on our servers.

Locate the file on your computer and double click on it to begin the installation. We recommend that you read each step through in its entirety before performing the action indicated in the step.

Click OK at the bottom right of the screen to confirm all changes. The phone is now setup and ready to use with your Vonage Business extension. Open X-Lite. Select the Accounts menu from the top of the screen and click the General tab. Click the Topology tab under the Accounts menu. Click on the Advanced tab under the Accounts menu and make the following changes: Under the Register Settings section change Reregister every to 30 seconds.

Select the Codecs menu from the top of the screen and then click the Audio Codes tab. Select the Call menu from the top of the screen. Under the Other section uncheck Enable inactivity timers. X-Lite is a softphone client, created by counterpath, which can be used to make and receive calls over the internet through a next generation carrier like Telnyx! First, you'll need to have setup a credentials based connection in the Telnyx Mission Control Portal. Once you've done this you should assign this connection to a DID and outbound profile in order to make and receive outbound calls.

This is the username and password you will use to register X-Lite with Telnyx. Once you've configured your Telnyx account, you're ready to start your setup of your X-lite softphone. At this point, you can now press OK. The softphone will attempt to register with sip. If the username and password are correct, you'll see that the account has been enabled successfully.
