Disable windows startup programs

Microsoft intends MSConfig to act primarily as a troubleshooting tool, but its simple and powerful interface makes it a good option for startup management as well. Click the msconfig search result. The utility will open in a new window. Click the Startup tab.

To stop a program from automatically launching when you boot the PC, uncheck the box next to its entry. When you are finished deselecting startup items, click OK. When you restart the computer, MSConfig will alert you to the changes. You can always return to MSConfig to reverse the changes or make additional tweaks. Click on the toggle switches for enabling or disabling startup programs. You can also filter programs by name, status, and startup impact for easy navigation. From the window menu, click on Task Manager.

Your Task Manager window will open. Click on the Startup menu from the options. The Startup programs list will appear. Right-click on the program you wish to disable. We suggest first searching the program online before disabling high impact programs.
